Paracetomol
This is a time tested analgesic and anti-pyretic. Paracetamol, a para aminophenol derivative, centrally acting analgesic and anti- pyretic. PARACETAMOL:
Cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-3 are in the brain and spinal cord, which is selectively inhibited by
paracetamol, and is distinct from cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2. It is selective inhibitor of the enzyme COX-3 in the brain and spinal cord explains the effectiveness of Paracetamol in relieving pain and reducing fever without having unwanted gastrointestinal side effects. It has antipyretic as well as analgesic property

Dosage: 1 -2 tsf three times daily
Pharmacokinetic:
Absorption: Usually reaches peak plasma levels 2 to 4 hrs after administration with a half-life of 2 hrs.
Mefenamic acid is a non- steroidal anti- inflammatory drug used to treat pain. Exhibits anti-inflammatory analgesic and Antipyretic. The mechanism of action of Mefenamic acid is similar to other NSAIDs.
Distribution: Mefenamic acid and its metabolites are firmly bound to plasma proteins.
Elimination: Following a single dose , 67% of the total dose is excreted in the urine as unchanged drug or as one of the two metabolites20%-25% of the dose is excreted in the faces during the first three days.
Children: 250 mg three times daily should be taken with food
